Can Fernando Alonso make it three Formula One championships in Brazil on Sunday? After an amazing F1 season that has seen five drivers battling for the title, everything could be resolved at the penultimate race at Interlagos, but only if Alonso stays ahead of his rivals. The Spaniard's recent surge and win two weeks ago in Korea have put him in front at just the right time, and the title is now his to lose.
Reports in Europe say that BMW is planning a shake-up in the naming strategy for its smaller coupes and convertibles, as well as planning to shift its 1-series cars onto a front-drive platform. The nameplate shake-up will have coupe and convertible variants of the 1-series become the 2-series, while coupe and convertible variants of the 3-series will become the 4-series. The changeover is expected to start in 2013, according to a report on the Web site of Car magazine.
The first proper pictures of the new Audi R8 Spyder
We’ve known for some time that the drop-top R8 was coming to Frankfurt. The Spyder has been seen out and about on the set of the film ‘Iron Man II’, and we had a UK Audi dealer using a picture from the set to promote orders for the R8 Spyder back in July. So it’s not new news, but the pictures are new and are obviously part of the official release set – which we’ll no doubt see later today.
